Food Travel and Vacation Woes

By Lando • Jun 23rd, 2008 • Category: New Topics

With summer starting off, it’s no surprise that some of us will want to travel. Many are in search of new spots to make their trips even more memorable. The bad part is that with the rising prices in gasoline, some of us have to make some spending adjustments. I watched Jack Black’s Shallow Hal (2001) the other day and noticed in the movie that gas prices were about $1.50 per gallon. Long gone are those days. I even had to cut back my trips from Fremont to Monterey just because of the rising gas prices.

Well, with that said, hopefully gas prices won’t deter you from having amazing vacations with your family, friends, or loved ones. Just say that memories from a great vacation will outweigh your gas bill. If that’s not the case, try to plan a vacation that’s closer to home. That way, you won’t have to spend as much, but will still have an enjoyable time. Get out there and have some fun.

  1. Gas prices are killing me. Price for gas in Monterey is about $4.85-4.95 for a gallon of premium, its costing me about $90-100 for a full tank. Sadly it’s not stopping there. People are speculating that gas will hit $6 a gallon by the end of summer.

Time to start looking into those Hybrids!

  2. too late to look into hybrids. you’ll be paying through the nose for them. Same goes for Civics. Thinking about getting a Corolla or something…

  3. Yea, I’ve been wanting the Camry for some time now. Just last month I went to the local dealership to take a look at them and they were completely sold out. Apparently they had some kind of deal where there was no interest for 5 years.

  4. Another great way to save some cash this summer is using the Entertainment.com coupon book. It’s filled with plenty of great savings. I know a lot of first daters out there are going to be reluctant to use coupons on the date, but certain savings can be credited using the membership card. It looks more discreet. If you check out Nate’s blog, House of Annie, they were able to save a few bucks using some coupons from the book.
