It’s been two months since the launch of SpotsForDates.com and we’re excited to see what lies in July. We’ve been trying to make a name for ourselves in the food blog world. We feel that we are growing steadily. With the help of Foodbuzz, we can reach out to foodies like you.

So what’s new in July? For one, better photos. We finally decided to retire our older Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S700s. We picked up these last Black Friday for $100 a piece. I thought it was the deal of the decade. The camera did everything that I wanted to do. Little did I know that the equipment you use plays a big role in what you do. For food shots it performs ok, but not spectacular. Also, reading an user average rating for the Sony of 6/10 really made me want to make a change. So, we hooked ourselves up with two Canon cameras - The A590IS and the SD750. The picture of the egg pie was taken with the A590IS. These cameras are a definite upgrade and are way better than the Sony. We can’t wait to show you the food shots we’ve taken.

You can also count on seeing the regular updates of discoveries we find in the Bay Area that we claim to be a spot for dates. Whether it’s a local hole in the wall to more well known establishments, we’re going to bring it to you. And hey, summer is here and we’re planning to travel. We’ll post up spots that we might find along the way too.
