We met Nate and Annie at a Featured Food Publisher dinner at Gochi that Foodbuzz hosted. House of Annie is a great resource for recipes and culinary adventures. Be sure to check them out!

Gameday Snacks, Carne Asada Fries

By Lando • Oct 5th, 2008 • Category: Updates2 Comments

Sundays usually mean watching your favorite football team try to win one on gameday. It also gives me a chance to snack on food like carne asada fries.

You get French fries, carne asada, cheese, onions, tomatoes, and guacamole. It might sound like an unusual combination, but the flavors all go well together. It’s not healthy, but hey, football season only lasts a few months. I’ll skip on counting calories for now. Well, at least on Sundays.

I picked these up at a local taco spot by my hometown in Marina, CA. What’s your favorite football season snack?

Black Bear Diner doesn’t look like your typical diner. Step inside and you’ll be greeted with bear decorations everywhere. They stay true to their name. Comfort food lovers will find their favorite classics here to enjoy.

We’ve had plenty of Sunday brunches here. I ordered corned beef one time and couldn’t stop talking about it. During our most recent visit, my younger brother Lawrence, Rose, and I ordered the corned beef. I guess you could say I had something to do with it. When you get three people ordering the same thing, that means something must be good. Three orders of the corned beef at Black Bear Diner left us satisfied. This isn’t that watery canned stuff either. You are getting the real deal. It’s chunky. It’s shredded. It’s some of the better corned beef in the area.

The Huge portions of food here will leave you stuffed. And that’s true with every item at Black Bear Diner. Be sure to bring your appetite if your planning to stop by.
